Funny things happening with Reputation points.

I just tried to give some positive reputation points to another member here, but I get the message 'You must spread some reputation around before giving it to XXXXXX again'.

Now, the problem with this is that I know I've never given XXXXXX any reputation points ever before. so why am I being stopped from giving them any? I've had this happen with other members too that I know darn well the last time I gave them rep points was months ago, but this is the first time I've ever been prevented from giving rep points to someone whom I've never given any to. Is the reputation points system on the fritz or something?

Yeah, I was able to give some rep points to another member earlier tonight, but then I was prevented from giving point to someone I'd never given points to.... It's kinda weird....

Is there an explanation of reputation points anywhere? I don't understand how they work. I get them, I give them, but I can only see my own and no one else's.

Is it like, after I get so many then I walk around with an aura that is +3 to defense against ball python bites, even though I don't know it????:confused:

do the reputation points have anything to do with the little green boxes to the left? When u hover it says "off to a good start" or at least mine did, but it changed recently and now says "learning & growing" I tried to search for some kind of point system explanation but could find anything:confused::confused:

Sweet, pretty soon and I can use my Sword of 1000 Truths...I just need the dexterity points...

I believe you have to give out 20 more reps before hitting the same person again...but you state that you've never given this particular person a rep point at all..which is rather odd. I'm sure an Admin will see this thread and look a little deeper into the reason than I am able to.

I've wondered about that. Didn't know if it was a certain number of points, or just elapsed time, or what. Thanks!

20? Wow, thats a lot. I can be kind of stingy with the rep points, it could be some time before I'd be able to hit someone up again. But the person I was trying to give points to hardly has any posts either so I doubt that I'd forget if I'd given them any before.
