    Do humidifiers work?
hi, I have three tanks that Im getting a bit tired of misting so that the humidity stays high, I'm thinking about using a humidifier for my bedroom (I keep my snakes in my room) but my room is a bit small. So will a humidifier in my room be good enough for the tanks? And now the selfish question: will I feel a big change do to the humidifier?

I run a humidifier in our reptile room because we have a blow heater and no humidifier on it, which means our house is super dry in the winter. I run a unit I bought at walmart for $20 and it bumps up my room humidity about 15-20%. I've noticed I'm not having shed problems with the BPs since I bought it. My husband also commented that he wants to get another one for our bedroom because he noticed a big (good) difference in the air and isn't so congested after he's been in the reptile room.

We use a humidifier in our snake room as well. It's what gets us through the winter! :)

I live in the high desert of central Oregon where the humidity reaches a high of about 28% in the winter and goes down from there in the summer :weirdface
I don't want to hassle with humidifiers and possible mold, water changes, etc. so I bought reptile cages from Reptile Basics and have not had a problem with humidity at all.
I still have RBI racks, but am in the process of slowing switching all the snakes into cages as well as switching from flex watt to radiant heat panels that seem far more natural for the snakes. :gj:

I use a humidifier controled by a humidistat made by Ranco. You dial the humidistat to the humidity you want and it turns humidifier on and off. It works better with the cheaper analog or on off humidifiers as opposed to a digitally controled humidifier (which is better cause their cheaper). I live in Desert conditions much of the year and it keeps my snake room perfect. I use a 5 gallon humidifier from Sears. I had problems in the past of mold buliding up if you rum humidifier alone. Even the ones that say they have humidity controls arent very accurate.
