Pattern on the shed skin

    Pattern on the shed skin
    I read on another thread someone questioning whether a snake had shed 'cklear' and then the poster clarified somethig about the pattern showing or not on the shed skin. I noticed when ours shed last time that the skin had transferred a bit of color pattern and then it dried to a more uniform color. Do some snakes NOT do this? What does it mean?

    Hypos shed clear. No pattern on there sheds..

    Please define hypo for me...:confused:

    I have a male normal and when he sheds it shows no pattern, my female normals shed shows a pattern. They are both normal, why the difference in sheds?

    Hypo (aka) ghost. They all shed clear..

    Mine both shed with a pattern.
    A hypo is also called a ghost morph. Hope that helps.

    A normal will have some brown color on the shed while a ghost/hypo will have an opaque shed.

    An albino also has a shed similar to a hypo.
