Keeping up Humidity

I have been having a hard time keeping my humidity up to help my BP with her shed. I can easily keep it in the low 50's without misting, etc, but since she started going pink-belly yesterday, I have been having a hard time with getting the humidity up. I have misted a ton, tried dampening the driftwood, I moved the substrate away below the water dish, so that it rests directly on the bottom of the tub. Despite all of this, I cant get the humidity above 60.

I am using Aspen for substrate. Anyone have any more ideas to help get my humidity up? If not, I cant readily get sphagnum moss, is there any other option for a humid hide?

I have my humidity at a constant 50% and my BP sheds in one piece. I've only had him for 2 sheds and both were fine.

I have 40 gal glass tanks so the humidity was an issue at first - I solved it by buying a few yards of vinyl at a craft store and cutting it to fit ove the mesh top. I cut out 2 circles under where my pennant style lights hang. It works great! I could take pic to show you - let me know.

Keep in mind I still mist the tank but no where near as often as before. I haven't had a problem keeping humidity at 80 for sheds misting every other day and it stays at 60 if I mist every few days. Before the vinyl I was misting several times a day just to hit 60. Hope the pic helped:D:D;)

I live in a VERY dry climate and humidity can be a major issue. If you mostly cover the top (see pic above) that helps. Also I have found that if I spray the aspen (with the spray bottle set to stream) to get the aspen wet then mix (like tossing a salad) and repeat that really heaps the humidity. I am just sure to do this in a couple of spots where the snake is not hanging out. You don't want the snake to be chillin on a wet substrate.

60% humidity is fine for perfect sheds. 80% is just a wee bit silly...
Use the internet to order moss if you want to make humid hides.
I use Chilean long fiber moss after Kara told me about it. Great stuff. Makes me wish I could curl up in a nest of it for the night! ;)

I have a 40 breeder and I'm tellin' ya... moss and wet towels rule!
Both of Furio's hides are stuffed with moss (He likes to nest in this) then all around his hides are and around his little jungle gym thing as well. I mist once every 2 days (pretty thorough) and the humidity stays around 55-56% during shed I mist everyday and it gets up to about 61% and he sheds like a little champ! :) Hope this helps!
