    Fledgling Chickens
Hi! Just thought someone would get some interest out of my fledglings. These are from my last batch of chicks, hatched April 27-29th, mostly from "mystery" eggs! I'm pretty pleased with what came out. :D I got five Barred Rocks, two black, white crested Polish, three golden Polish, and four Americanas. Don't mind the messy pen! This is the nighttime pen where they sleep, during the day they have a slightly larger, grassy area to play in.

This is . . . Turd. Pardon the name! I told my brother I would name one chick for him, and well, I tend to call my brother a "turd" alot! He is a golden crested Polish.

Here is another golden crested polish:

Here is an Americana, or "Easter Egger", they lay blue, green, or even purple eggs.

In this picture you can see two Barred Rocks, and a black, white crested Polish.

And here, you can see some of the Polish, the Americanas, and the Barred Rocks.

They'll be going into the big pen soon as they completely feather out, and I know they'll just love it.

Absolutely! Chickens are totally addicting. I love being outside and watching them go about their business.
To me, they remind me of tiny dinosaurs, with their scary looking little eyes. :P

I just love the golden crested Polish chickies.

I really wish I could keep a few myself. I just fear they'd end up dinner to the neighborhood dogs, that people can't seem to keep in their own yards. :evileye:

You can't EAT a pet. :colbert: (it kinda kills the whole pet part of the equation  )

No cooking those cuties, but you can dream about omlettes all you want. ;) :P
