    Should I be concerned?
So tonight was feeding night... I track size of the food item and the quantity that was eaten for each of my snakes. I noticed that the baby who was eating to small mice every 7 days for the first 4 feedings is now eating only one small mouse one week and then 2 the next. So she's alternating from 2 mice to 1 mouse each week. This has been going on for the last few feedings. Is this normal? :weirdfaceShould I be concerned? If not just tell me to stop worrying so much!
I just thought it was odd, but what do I know.

    Any input is appreciated!!!!

She might be full from the week before :gj:.If she is still eating something then there is no reason to have any worries :P

mine alternate every now and then. as long as she doesn't stop eating completely, i wouldn't worry. :gj:

You might try to move up to a larger size mouse. Sometimes they become disinterested in a 2nd food offering after it has already eaten, but I agree as long as they are feeding I wouldn't worry so much.

I think you are just an overly concerned new snake keeper! But the fact that you are keeping records and noticing stuff like this is actually a very good sign that you are a great snake keeper! It just takes a little while to learn which things to worry about!

As everyone has pretty much said already, as long as the snake is still eating, I wouldn't worry at all about the alternating between eating 1 and 2 mice. Maybe it is at a point in its growth where 1 1/2 mouse would be perfect, so it is balancing things out?

When any of our snakes start to eat 2 mice consistantly (every week/every other week) we start giving them a slightly larger prey items.
