I could be wrong, but I thought it's been done? I swear I've seen a pic of one, but I could be wrong. But Muddoc is right, if it hasnt been done, I am sure we will see one real soon.

I saw an ad for double hets a while back but don’t remember pictures or if it was a reliable source.

Years and years ago there was some odd evidence that made me wonder if pied and clown might be alleles so I was half expecting that the double hets might not be normal looking. It's been so long now that I'm not sure I'm remembering the details right so if anyone knows please correct me. I think the story goes like this - someone named Matt Turner produced a pied breeding a VPI clown het to an assumed normal.

I never heard any follow-up as to what later breeding results showed with the animals involved. But one possible explanation I came up with was that clown and pied might be alleles (two different mutant versions of the same gene) and the pied//clown animal with one copy each of both mutations might look pied. In this scenario the normal female was a het pied, perhaps picked to pair with the het clown based on belly markers.

But, if people are finally purposely producing double hets now someone should know if they look normal or not so let me know so I can check this theory off. Maybe Matt’s het clown male just happened to also be het pied. Seems like this was close to a decade ago so someone should know by now.

Check out this breeder's website...looks like they've found "the holy grail". It better be a damn good snake...its $25,000.00! I'd like to see who buys the thing.
