    Dungeons and Dragons
I was curious if anyone played dungeons and dragons here? My wife and another couple we're friends with are starting to play. I've played a little in high school, as has one of the other people in the other couple. I've never been a dm though and I'm getting into that now. I was just curious if anyone else here played because I may have some questions and I"m always interested in tips. Thanks.

Ha, yeah they do. There's actually a new version (4.0) coming out in a few weeks I believe. Although we're not going to start playing by the 4.0 rules because I already bought all the 3.5 rules lol

I used to have friends that played, I never did.

My boyfriend apparently used to be an avid D&D player in his twenties. The old group he used to play with tried resurrecting gaming together this year. We got to play once (including me), and we've never been able to get together again.

It was a bummer, I had fun playing. I would've liked to continue.

I have a couple of friends that have been designing their own tabletop RPG's for some time now. Those are the only games we run anymore.

I have some old D&D books somewhere, but didn't play it much when I was younger (not to many others into it in the small town I grew up in).

I used to play Vampire: The Masquerade! My friend and I were never serious enough for the hardcore group though, and never took it seriously, so we drifted off. My favorite thing about it was looking at all of the cool artwork in the books..

The artwork was pretty cool. But I only knew one guy who played D&D.

I know many, many people that played and still do play D&D. I, personally, have never played but then I've never been much of a role player .

I'll still be picking up the new Player Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Handbook next week. It's one of the perks of working for Wizards of the Coast. I like to look at the pictures in the book, too! :D

Ok, first of all I wish I hadn't been away when this was first posted. :)

Second: OF COURSE people still play it!! Even tho 3.5 and especially the crud that is 4.0 have 'munchkinized' the game, it still lives on!

As if you couldn't tell, I play D&D and have since I was 5 (original 1st edition). Currently my BF runs two games online since most of our group is back in Texas. One is basic 3rd edition in a world he created that really rocks. The second is a Star Wars Saga edition game that just recently got started and is looking good.

Live RPG, or even online posted form, is the way to go game wise. :)

I've played on and off from when it frist came out still stick to the older rules think they have changed the game for the worse. When I found out they could make evil rangers I knew i was right in staying with the older game.
