moving question

Hi all,

I'm moving from NC to NY but I'm planning on flying up rather than bringing a moving van's worth of items. A friend of mine has agreed to drive up my ball python's large cage and accessories but unfortunately she's a little nervous about riding with a snake in the car for so many hours. Does any one know any alternative travel methods for snakes? I don't know how snakes are generally shipped to customers but are those options easily looked in to?
