    just a couple of misfits.
Some of you may remember my post about my Oogly rat. He was a runt and had an umbilical hernia. He was not the most attractive lil guy hence the name Oogly. ;)

Oogly is growing up and doing well! He still has the hernia but it has reduced in size a bit. I thought I would share a couple pics I took tonight.

I also took a pic of my female rat...Stubs. She was a breeder till she got out one day and when Jeff tried to catch her he had her tail and degloved her. She had to be QT'd so I could monitor it and keep it clean. She is doing great and her tail has healed.

so without further ado...here are a couple of my misfits.

    Oogly.

    thanks Justin.

Oogly had the herni at birth and it is where the umbilical cord was..the belly button. The hernia is basically just a weakness in the abdomen muscles which lead to a lump. It can be harmful but Oogly seems to be doing fine. I check it every week to see if it hardens or feels different.

The degloving I believe was just about an inch down from the tip of her tail. I put her in her own tub and made sure her aspen was clean at all times.

    :)

Ok that clears it up. Did she just grow scar tissue wherethe old tail was, or did it just reattach itself?

it is just the tissue that was under the tail there now. I could have had it snipped off but she healed on her own very well.
