Shed Issue

OOk so, my pastel female went blue and began shedding normally, and got her head and neck clean. but, she hasn't made any effort to get the rest of it off, and it's been on her for about 3-4 days now. One of my friends told me to try soaking and then peeling, so i tried that, and it was going ok until i got to the middle section of her underbelly. It looked a little funny and when i started peeling there it looked and felt like some of her normal scales underneath started coming off! and they came off in single scales, not in pieces like a normal shed. i'm really pretty worried. I was so freaked out that i just applied some shedding aid to the affected area and the rest of her, and put her up. i've got her enclosure set up right so please don't ask me to list everything; the only thing i can think of is that the humidity might be a little high, but wouldnt that help shedding and not make it worse? i'll get pics asap; don't have access to a camera right now.

Get a shoebox tub with a lid(6-15qt tub) and put some papertowels in the bottom. Add lukewarm water to the tub until there's about 1/2" of water in it. Add snake, put lid on and put the whole thing in the snake's enclosure.

If the snake is already being housed in a tub this size, then just take everything out, add papertowels and water, and put the tub over the heat.

You'll want to leave it alone for a good hour or two, and by then all of the shed should be off. If not, just let the snake run through a damp, rough washcloth or towel. That should get the remaining bits of.

Don't worry about the coloring of the scales being removed. It won't hurt anything and will come back within the next shed.

Yeppers! Paper towels provide a bit of friction so the shed comes off easily. If you can put the whole tub on top of the heat, it will create a nice little snakey sauna. Just leave for an hour or so and she should be fine :)
