    Water/Substrate measurement?
I am about to fire up my homemade incubator and test it out. I have the 6 qt tub for the eggs. How do I measure water/substrate to mix together? Is it like 700 g of substrate to 700 g of water?

Depends on the substrate and how you plan to use it

Its the vermiculite/perilite stuff. I plan on placing the eggs on it so they can incubate. Well maybe a little buried in it.

Mix with water until it clumps in your hand.
I know, not very scientific but it works. :D

    Not half and half.

Start with your substrate, pour water... Mix

Pour more water until it clumps in your hand. I would hazard to guess about 1/3 ratio. BUT START SLOW... It's way easier to keep it dry than to get it too wet and dry it out.
