I have a little nic boa, about 4-5 weeks old, that is strike happy. We just got her on Sat and she has struck me and my husband once each already since yesterday. She has also struck at us many more times than we have been hit. What could be causing her to do this.

She's a youngin is all. She'll calm down and those pesty little strikes don't hurt much ;) . How long have you had her in your home? Does she feel secure? What's your setup like?

I don't know. We have a 29 gal with a branch and a hide hut. Temp is good. Getting the humidity up there. She is rooming with a mellow columbian red-tail same age and size. It is just pesky because we can't even put our hand in the cage for any reason without getting struck at. Was just wondering if this was normal.

For some, yes that is normal. They usually grow out of it though. They shouldn't be "roomed" together at all. You might want to start there, the other snake could be stressing her out.

So Jimi, I'm getting a wee one from you and have never had one so young. Can you share what a perfect set-up might be for this age? Would it be a bitty tub? A 2x3 reptile cage? If a tub, how do they climb?? How 'bout hides?
I have my other 2 girls in separate 2x3 reptile cages and have another 2x3 set aside for Niah (flash:daughter in a cage ) I have a RHP for that cage. BUT, if she is too little for this right now, I also have an empty rack system with 32qt tubs and also tub dividers.
    So.... what to do....?
