Male rats looks pregnant?

One of my males just seems to get bigger around the middle on a regular basis. I have mistaken him for a pregnant female several times over now just from top view.

Is it possible he is just fat, or should I look for some other problem? He's hooded, though not perfectly. If he is just that fat should I do something about it? He's fed the same thing everybody else is.

Heh, that's nothing... you should see one of my male mice! Since he looks almost exactly like one of his girls, I keep mistaking them and thinking she is about to pop again all the time! He is HUGE. :)

You know what'd be funny....is to post those pics in a fresh thread with the question, "Is my rat pregnant???" And see how many people say, "Yep...looks prego to me!" :rofl:

Well geesh if you think about it, our male breeder rats have a pretty good deal! Loads of food to munch on, clean water available 24/7, somebody around to remove the nasty bedding from under your lazy rat butt and hey, the only thing on your daily To Do list is make out with the lady rats.

Course if you don't do your job you meet a large hungry snake but really all and all, it's a pretty decent life. :D
