    sphagnum moss?
    hello again! i been havin a hard time keeping the humidity up so i got some advice about chilian moss.i couldnt find that but i found sphagnum moss.on the bag it says good for reptiles so i bought it.is this ok to use?

    Yep, go nuts, I use sphagnum moss - unless LD decides to strew it about the tank... I zap it slightly damp in the microwave for 30 seconds to kill anything that could be living in it.

    sweet!do you put it in a bowl or right on the surface?it smells really good too like a rain shower.i was hoping it would be ok

    I put it in a bowl, then spray it down every few days and switch it out twice a month or so. Its similar to having a second water bowl. Once your done with the moss - if your parents have plants outside, the moss really helps keep the moisture in the soil if you toss it in the pot.

    No problem, If you find you are still misting/spraying alot - I swear by a compact humidifier, $20 and you have to fill it once every two days or so.
