Is He Suposed to feel like this?
I was holding my BP for the first time since bringing him home and he felt cold. To be honest I don't remember him being so cold before. I am a first time snake owner and paranoid as all hell any insight would be great thanks.

BTW- His temps are Hi 91.4 Lo 79.2 and Humidity is 67%

I don't exactly know what to be worried over or not yet... Please bare with me.

    Thank you all!

Did you give him the week to settle in?

Was he resting on the cool side when you got him out?

How are you heating the cage? I.E. UTH, lamps...?

Snakes are exothermic, so they'll always feel cool to the touch unless they've been on the warm side. :)

Is 79 ok for snakes? (Of course, as long as they have a warmer side to go to)

he was on the cool side.

I was just checkin. the warmer side is usually 82. but I had it dropped today due to the warm side over heating all is well now thanks.

:) Sounds ok, then. My snakes, especially my corns who prefer the cooler side, are usually pretty cold when I pick them up.

And 79 is a little cool, but still acceptable. With the strange weather up here in CO, I get fluctuations between 78-86 cool side and 89-96 warm...WITH thermostat control. One night it's 'open the windows', the next it's 'bring out the blankets'!

Yea I hear ya. We are in maryland and the weather changes like the direction of the wind! No to mention the way the sun decide when and when not to show itself here lately lol...

I think I am just paranoid. think I will ever get over it?

With snakes in the house? No. :D Paranoia is a natural part of caring about, and for, these animals. I have 9 total and I still get anxious about some of the things they do. :) Just know that you can feel better by searching these forums and asking questions.
