4th feeding... SUCCESS!!! Finally!!
3 happy things tonight!!
1. Luke ate for the first time with me as his owner! He last ate 1 month and 4 days ago from his breeder.:fest::carrot:
2. All 3 of my snakes ate with strong feeding responses. (Well, my corn just strolls up to his mouse and chomps its head, but for him I consider immediate eating to be a strong eating response.) YAY!
3. I am now finally a member of the Bite Club. This means I am now officially a snake wrangler, right? :D
Well, it was my fault, of course - I was suspicious that the mouse was hiding somewhere in his enclosure, cause that's what happened last week. I didn't see it but wanted to be totally sure that he'd eaten it, so I lifted up everything in the enclosure, including the newspaper under which Luke was curled up. He was not happy about being disturbed, tagged me and started hissing. I still love him to death anyways though.
Can I get a whoop whoop! SUCCESS!!! :partyon::pinkele: Now I can go to sleep without feeling like a terrible snake owner. Hahh!

Woohoo! I know you've been concerned about the mini-feeding strike. Glad to see they are all eating now! :pinkele::pinkele::pinkele:

Does this mean you tried the crumpled newspaper trick?
Of course you still love him! If I hadn't eaten for a month I'd be defending my meal too!

Nope, he was just under his newspaper substrate. I actually opted for trying to create a routine over trying something new. You know how he likes darkness... Well here's what I did. First left the box on top of his enclosure to pre-scent for awhile. Then, I cut a small hole in the mouse box, put it inside the enclosure, and left the room totally dark and silent. I figured that by the time the mouse had chewed/crawled out of the hole, Luke would be already out on the prowl. And I guess it worked. Pays to improvise sometimes!

:gj: Congrats on a successful feed!! I have yet to become a member of the "bite club" though lol. But I'm going around 7 o'clock this evening to the pet store to get my snakes dinner :rat:
