    not again!!!
Well some of you might remeber that a few months back my little pastel male got a minor case of scale rot. After a vet trip some meds and cream he was all better. Well guess what, its back. I dont know whats up. I clean his tank 2 times a week (now i see the advantages to papertowels its soo easy) I have only actually disinfected his tank 1 or 2 times since I cant remember. His temps are fine. 79 cool side 89ish hot side. hum at around 50-55% I dont get it he was fine for quite some time then bam I noticed it again the other day. I hope he is not always this prone to problems. Stupid prehistoric pets and their crappy husbandry.

Okay. You need to figure this out. Jinkies! Lets look for clues!!
Bump up your hot side and your cool side.
Clean every time he pees- even the smallest amount.
Maybe do the cream for longer????
    What else?

Yeah I need to go back to the vet this week and get a refill on his other meds figure that combo worked last time might as well go back to it. And as for the cleaning I do thats why I have stuck with the paper towels I switched my blood over to them also. I dont get it I think He likes being sick so he gets all the attention from me....yeah, thats it. ;)

Sounds like the bacteria that caused the rot was still in the cage/on his body.

I'd bleach the cage. Let sit for 5 minutes. Then rinse. Then I'd chlorhexidine the cage. Wait 10 minutes. Then rinse.

I'd also be giving the little guy some betadine baths. Or chlorhexidine baths. And using silvadene on the spots after the bath.

That's just me. Good luck to you!!!

I am using chlorohexiderm to wipe him down, and silver suladiazine cream on his infected spots. I think I just weakened it last time and I could visibly see it but it was just regrouping because its in the same exact spots again.

Did you not do the complete course of meds for the time recommended by your vet?
