    Tub Question
I have my sneaky little albino king in a tub until he is a decent size, when he will be moved to a tank. I have a lamp over the tub (40 watt) and that is giving me about 80 degrees under the lamp, mid 70s on the other side. I can put a small UTH under the tub, but I would rather not since I hate rheostats, and I don't have a second thermostat.

My question is - should I put holes in the LID under the lamp, or will that compromise the strength of the lid? The whole tub has about 100 holes to keep the humidity down, so ventilation is not a problem.

As a ball python person I would say go with the UTH and get some kind of thermostat even an on off type.

A kingsnake only needs 70-75 on one side, 80-85 on the other side, and they do not need belly heat as much as bp's. I don't want to dish out another $65 for another thermostat, so thats why I'm not big on using a UTH for him. Thanx for your input though!
