Canon D-SLR users...

Just a simple inquiry for those of you who use Canon D-SLR's. Would you like to see a "lens review"?

As some of you know, I have been building up my equipment for various photo-shoots. What I could do is post a couple images taken with the lens I used, probably bi-weekly, or monthly. I could give a performance rating in my opinion, a quality rating, etc; towards herpetological/invertebrate photography. I'll list the conditions taken, and settings as well. Mainly to give a feel for others looking into buying other lenses, but want to see actual pictures taken, and ratings beforehand, when working with reptiles. Sound like a good idea? :D Let me know!

I'm sure people just getting into Digital SLR's might like that, especially how it may correlate with herps. I like the user reviews on fredmiranda but most don't have any example photo's and the few that do don't have any image info of settings etc.

I really only have one or two lenses that would apply to herp stuff, my Canon 100mm macro and Sigma 24-70mm macro. All my other stuff is a little above what the average user would own or could even use for herps like my 85mm f/1.2L II or 300 f/2.8L IS.

Majority of my stuff is based around Herp and invert photography. Other than that, it's zoological stuff like the large cats. I'd mainly just do representational stuff with beginner/intermediate lenses :)

Off Topic but - How do your two "L-glass" lenses perform? I only use one L-glass lens right now...I'm very pleased so far.

I can't get enough of them! They are a step above and beyond normal lenses. If I had the money I'd have a dozen different "L" lenses. The 85mm f/1.2L II is my fav and I'm thinking about getting a wide angle "L" maybe a 35mm or 24mm.

Very nice! I'm hoping to be able to buy up some more, myself. I cannot get enough of the one I own now! Darn espensive hobbies....why do they all have to be addicting? :tears:

Andrew I can't speak for everyone but I would LOVE to see more photography/camera info and how tos on here. This user at least would bow to you. :D

i personally have the kit 18-55mm which i use on all my herp shoots. for wildlife and such i use the 80-300mm (80? dont remember)

Canon Zoom-Wide Angle EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Autofocus kit lens, and the Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Autofocus lens; if your using the Canon lenses that normally come with the bundle :)
