    Strangling himself???
So a couple of times in the past couple days, my little guy has been curling tight around my hand when I hold him. Then he lets go, only to latch onto his own head! He squeezes so tight that his mouth comes partially open.

Is he aware that he is constricting his own head, or is he accidentally hurting himself?
I want to make sure he knows not to squeeze too hard.

In short, is this normal behavior?

    Hi,

Mine always seem a little more confident and relaxed if they have their tails firmly wrapped around something so I make a point of giving them something to hang onto whenever I can.

Maybe making sure he can tail wrap one of your fingers while exploring with the front end will stop him "holding onto his hat" so to speak.

i really don't think he would do anything so severe as to really hurt himself; i cant see a BP knowlingly strangle himself. sometimes when mine wrap up tightly their mouths open a little. but, i agree with derek in just making a concious effort to give him something to wrap onto. :)

    Sounds good to me!
He's always fine when he's hanging onto me, but when it's me hanging onto him, that's when it starts.

    Thanks a bunch, guys!
