Making a hopper, the long hard way...
Ok, sorry this took so long, and this way may seem to others to be a hassle and too much effort. But I can make it in about 10 minutes after all the pieces have been cut.

First, cut your hardware cloth. And get some needle nose pliers.

Now bend it into shape. Making sure that the same number of squares is equal for all 4 sides.

Leave one side long, to bend over for the seam

This is the blunt side, and the long side to bend over. (sorry its out of focus)

3 pictures, showing how I bend them over and close it up. This is the quickest part LOL.

    All closed up.

How I bend over those tough sharp edges. (The piece with some red fuzz)

I cut out the bottom and top pieces, bending those onto the hopper.

My tops are hinged on one end and secured with a piece of wire. (there is wire in the back to hang it on a tub)

Alrighty, that's it. My long drawn out process to make a hopper! And my siamese girls enjoying it! *or are they playing with the sock?* (Do you see the russian blue point siamese :D)

I get a lot of lonely socks. 2 socks go into wash, 1 sock comes out. Some sort of death match in the washer maybe? The rats get the spoils!

I saw the title of this thread and thought hopper mouse.... LOL.

I love your description "it only takes 10 minutes after all the cutting is done"... but for me, cutting the hardware cloth is always the part that takes the longest!

I thought you meant a mouse hopper.. So that made me think that you have mouse parts stashed in your freezer and have to stitch them together like Frankenstein, LMAO. I'm horrible.. ;)
