Just to clarify this.
Posting pictures that belong to other people is allowed as long as credit is given - so simply saying who took it or where you found it should cover that one fine. :gj:
The only other major no-no is hotlinking as that can cause major problems for the people actually hosting the picture - in this instance it isn't really a problem as it is on a photo sharing site anyway. So Cassandra is correct - if it is hosted on a normal website then, yes, a link should be used to mitigate the effect.:gj:
If anyone is ever curious about why this rule exists have a swift google on the slashdot effect. :)
Oh yeah - I have kind of a bee in my bonnet about the 800 pixel size limit as well. :oops:
That is mainly because (as well as helping us manage bandwidth [I think - remind me to check that with Raj] ) anything wider than 800 pixels messes up the screen format for us poor unfortunates with older/smaller monitors. :taz:
