    Weird scales after shed?
Hey all I have a question. My Orion had a super shed this time thanks to your help with me getting the right humidity. It was almost a perfect shed with the tail from the vent down left that I had bathed him and it was a snap. But now I have noticed most of him is a rich blacks and browns and in some places it looks like some shiny scaled are there like they didnt shed? But I had baithed him and they didnt come off they just looked diffrent. Not in clusters but just some small lil scales that looked diffrent. Is this normal? He seems very happy after his shed and was all "lovin me" when I held him last night.. He even took the time to yawn when I held him. I guess I am not much fun:rofl:.

Well I will stop yackin. Thanks:banana:

It's hard to picture what you mean, but it's not uncommon for a few scales (either individual scales or small patches) to be off-color after a shed. Usually a dull grayish color, but not always. If that's what it is, it's harmless and will disappear with the next shed. (although sometimes a different spot of the same thing will pop up)

If the shed was "perfect" (i.e., you don't see any patches of skin missing), then I agree with Judy, those are just different colored scales. Remember that some snakes will gradually change color as they get older and some snakes even change color over the course of a day (light phase vs dark phase).

If the shed was good, just enjoy the show!

Yep it was a goos one. Even seen where his eyes were in the shed. It is so sic looking:gj: I guess I have notice a slight color change from white to a yellowish on the sides and getting darker.
My best way to describe the scales it looks like a fish scale. All kinda shiney looking just in spots and lil scales by themselves. I might take a pic but I am not sure if it would show up. I was thinking after reading allot of stuff people saying something like this at times? So I was and am hoping that by next shed this is gone or ok at least.
