My child could be a morph!
HAHA, I thought that title would get you to click on it.

My wife and I are expecting a lil baby boy in July. Being a ball python and chinchilla genetics geek, I thought I'd share this all with ya.

My wife and I are both Het for Blue Eyes. we both have hazel eyes, but both our fathers have blue eyes. So our kid has a 25% chance of having blue eyes.

My wife has red hair, I have brown hair, but my grandpa had red hair, so I am a 50% Poss Het for red hair. wonder if I'll prove out!

My big german nose is dominant in my family, but my wife's nose is the dominant nose in hers. wonder if it combining the two traits will be like crossing two co-dominant traits or if one will be dominant over the other, lol.

And I pray to God he gets my wife's chin!

we had a baby shower and one of the games was we took a face picture of each of us and cut out all the parts (hair, forehead/brow/eyes, cheeks, nose, mouth, chin, ears) and had everyone tape together what they thought the baby would look like. I don't know if you've ever seen Conan Obrien do this with celebrities, but it was just as bad!

Eye color is controlled by multiple genes so its not quite as simple to assign probabilities as some other traits. If you google eye color genetics or inheritance you will find alot more info. This might help a little bit, but it uses only the 3 basic colors. :gj:
