like regular dust you would get in ur house.. the tank got pretty hot so i stuck a cloth in there n started swinging it around to get the hot air out and i saw dust coming off of the cloth
Re: some dust got in the tank...
Why did your tank get too hot? How are you heating? You shouldn't have to swing towels around in the tank, I don't think. But either way, if it's ust normal house dust, I think you should be ok.

i use a black light bulb as my heating source... it usually doesnt get too hot its just i live in los angeles and it was 96 degrees outside today so it was because of that

i'd probably clean out the tank just in case there were harmful chemicals in that dust. i wouldn't be too terribly worried but it's better to be safe. i'd look into getting a UTH and thermostat. much easier to control the temps.

I like the UTH idea personally. It will help keep the temperature's more stable and also is a bit more conveniently hidden from view.

lol i meant about the dust
Re: some dust got in the tank...
Dust is no problem, you aren't getting snake mites from dust. My bigger concern is that it would get so hot that you'd have to actually try to get hot air out.
Lights are your only heating source?
