    New with lots of Questions
    Hello,

I'm new here. Looks like a great site! I am not new to snake ownership, but I am new to breeding ball pythons.

It all started for us with one seven year old normal male who is a much loved pet. Then we got the idea of breeding, and now we have seven ball pythons, one of whom is a rescue.

I have plenty of questions to ask. I just bought a 100% het piebald male yesterday, and I'm definitely trying to learn as much as I can, because ultimately we want to produce our own piebalds.

Dogs I am very good with and know inside and out- but snake genetics are new to me. I am finding that quite a bit of it is not that different from dogs, though, in so far as understanding the genetics.

If I sound ignorant, have patience... I'm just getting started!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello. I hope to make new friends who share my interest in snakes as well as learn a lot.

Welcome to BPNet, Jenna. I was just busy drooling over your gorgeous dogs in your other thread!

Check out the link you were given, it's a great start to learning BP genetics. Here's a couple of more for you to save for later study.

A good basic primer on genetics...

Same site - a nice overview of breeding with good clear pictures....

This one is definitely more advanced and you'll learn more about punnet squares here than you may ever have wanted to know LOL (grab a pencil and paper for this one). The best basic and advanced genetics for ball pythons information I've ever seen by one of the premiere breeders of this species. A huge site and chock full of great information overall.....

    Have fun!
