    Breth Glowing
This is Breth, an 03 or 04 female I rescued back in 06. She's currently almost 2300g(she's a mouse eater, GASP!) and has been breeding with my Lemon Pastel Orth. The last 2 pairings he hasn't locked up with her, but I will keep placing them together anyway :) She laid 6 good eggs last year, so hopefully we'll see more Pastels our of her this year.

Wow, thats a huge mouse eater!! Very nice! I have one also that only take mice, so every time my female grabs a mouse I wait until almost finish its meal, then take a medium rat and put it right on its mouth (while still open, not force at all). She just keeps swallowing until finish the rat also. Have you tried this??

No, I have not tried rats and will not. Mice don't outgrow my snakes and I can keep MANY around for weeks at a time without them getting too big. I also have pet rats and it's just out of the question to bring unquarantined rats into my house.

As you can see, she's a very thick, healthy girl and she has no problem gaining weight off of 3 adult mice a week(sometimes 4 if I have extras). She is so far from flabby it's funny. Very lean muscled female without alot of fat on her. She gained her weight back from laying last year VERY quickly.

And whoever is putting a medium rat into their snakes mouth while she's swallowing a mouse, that's called power feeding.. They don't need medium rats to thrive and grow, which is obvious by my 45 chunky mousers :)

Of course they dont need rats to thrive, it is just easier for me, but you have really good arguments for not to feed rats to your ball pythons. Again, that female looks beautiful and very healthy. Thanks for thanking a moment to explain me why you feed mice to your regius!...

No prob :) I just like dispelling that Ball Pythons need rats to thrive and grow. It also helps that the mice don't outgrow the snake in a week, LOL.

I keep opening her tub and she keeps looking at me like I'm a crazy lady. :rolleye2:

Awww she looks wonderful Becky! This is the same pairing that produced my Pandora right? Hopefully you'll get more gorgeous pastels again this year - best wishes!
