    new snakes
So! i made a lot of hard decisions about snakes lately. After a crash course in WC rehab and dealing with an incubator, I decided I did want to get more snakes. I made a big choice on what i want as far as look of the snake, and how best to go about getting there. I LOVE the look of an axanthic, but I can't afford the visible snake out right and still be able to get what i need for housing it. So I made the choice to buy a breeding pair of 07 het vpi axanthic.

First step is getting the enclosures I want for the snakes. I'm more of a display person, but tanks take up a lot of space so I found some display enclosures that offer the snakes the security they need, me the ability to watch them, and can stack so i don't have to fear taking up too much space with tanks.

Once the enclosures are set up correctly, and the snakes are here, it's a wait till atleast 2010 before i can think of breeding them. in that time I can build my incubator and hatchling rack.

yes, with all i would have to spend preparing and taking care of the two snakes till i could breed, i could have bought a visible vpi axanthic... but than i would only have one snake and not a breeding pair.

This will bring my count of snakes up to 4. Since i've already dealt with bad rep sellers, i'm going through very very high quality breeder with LOTS AND LOTS of recommendations. what i wanted to know, since price isnt' that big a diffrence for what i'm looking for, is should I go through two diffrent breeders to guarentee they aren't siblings?

also, what do you guys think of my long term plan? I'm dieing for eggs but i've already dealt with tragidy enough and i don't want to rush into anything i'm not ready for. making myself wait till the 07's are big enough will ensure i've learned all I can about breeding, incubation, and dealing with hatchlings.

I would go with the different breeders for each that way you get different blood but if you talk to a big breeder im sure they will have different blood from different clutches
