I go to a local Jazz bar every month or so to scope out the new talent... just wanted to know if anyone else enjoyed it as much as I do

I enjoy Jazz. I used to go to a coffee shop at NIU and listen to the NIU Jazz Band (well known) on Weds night.

Hmm.... I guess the type of jazz I like is different than what you like. I like the soft bass, soft drum (that weird looking thing that makes it sound soft)a good piano, and a goooood trumpet player.

Look towards Yoko kanno ( cowboy bebop) for getting me into jazz.
