CH vs CB - any differences?

Has anyone noticed any behavior differences between captive hatched BPs and captive bred? Is there any difference as far as taming or problems with feeding, particularly with captive hatched?

I'm looking into getting another pet-only BP, and am thinking about a CH, but I'm a little leary about it.

No difference, the most important whether you get a CH or CB is that you get a well started individual from a reputable source.

I have 5 CH they are all great animals.

The snake don't know if they are CH or CBB - so there's no difference. Just make sure you buy from someone reputable. My CH's are some of my prized animals.

For whatever reason, my CH is a lot more laid back than my other snakes. Also, both my CH and my room-mates CH seem to be growing slower than our other snakes. (Despite a parasite-free vet report). Of course, that is just two snakes out of thousands of CH. Also, I know the odds of her being het for something is like 1 in a million, but it is still really cool to think that she could possibly be carrying some unknown genetic trait...lol

i love my CH. he has never missed a meal or had a bad shed. never tried to bite me. my CH seems like he is growing slow. but maybe its cause i see him everyday.?!?

Has anyone had experience with Rolland from Outback Reptiles?

I won't be breeding so the unknown het possibility really isn't of much concern to me. I guess I'm just wondering if CH might be more of a challenge to handle.

Autumn I don't think a CH baby would automatically be more difficult to handle than a CB baby. We've got both in our collection and really I doubt anyone could tell which is which as far as size, weight, temperment, eating habits or ease of handling. CB or CH, pick a good source to purchase from and you'll automatically get a better baby snake to start with. Do things right on your end as far as setting the snake up and caring for it, you'll be more likely to end up with a nice BP.

The automatic advantage to going with a captive born and bred snake through a reputable breeder is having so much information about your snake (hatch date, gender, any genetics, etc.) as well as the continued support of that breeder. That's often worth more than you know. :)
