Re: help with viewing light
Im going to be getting a 50w Moonglow bulb once I get my 2nd UTH
Re: help with viewing light
Those bulbs do give little light but they do produce some heat. I bought aquarium LEDS off ebay so they wouldnt actualy be part of the heating in my tank (so I could turn them on and off when ever I please and not affect the temp)

After I bought this, I was a little cheesed to find those tiny betta night lights that actually plug in. I thought they all ran on batteries (grrr)
Re: help with viewing light
Oh and just so you know, alot of those "moon" bulbs that cost $7.99 plus, are the same as a black light that you can buy for $2 at a harware store:)
Re: help with viewing light
the blacklite i have now is shatter proof.is there any safety concerns for the snake or the house by using a 24 hour regular blacklite?

Not that I can think of. I use a blacklight (40watt) 24 hours a day for ambient heating when its not 80 degrees plus around here. I will mention that there is some light that can be seen by the bp, but I do not believe it is enough to stress the snake out. I have never heard of "shatter proof" bulbs but that is a good safety feature, if you are rough with your lamps:)
Re: help with viewing light
it says its coated with silicone to prevent shattering but it dims the light alot so i have been using the reg one to view and wen im done i put the shatterproof one on for bed time.but if you think im ok with the regular one ill stick with it 24/7.thanks missy!

Oh no its ok, I was just double checking it wasn't a regualr white light (I'm tired lol time to go to bed I think) If it doesn't give off alot of light, and won't keep you up then it should work fine:)
