    Fake plants for my boys...
I've decided to go make some fake-plant-climby-things for at least Levi... Temptation has been happily sleeping away, and he doesn't show a need for it, but I'm thinking at least a little bit of foliage for some cover would be nice for him. There are two questions I have with this. First, is there a good way to sanitize the plants? And, second, anyone have a good method/list of materials to make a climbing vine for inside the tub? I do want to make Levi a "chill tree" eventually, but that can come later. :)

    Thanks!

Well you can use the same materials as the chill tree. They sell thin PVC piping at Lowes and probably home depot too.

My chill tree was kind of a fun project for myself but the BP seems to enjoy hiding in the leaves and hangin out.

You won't see the BP climbing alot though since they really like the ground. Good luck!

I know they prefer the ground, but Levi's always hanging out on top of his hides and stuff. Plus some extra cover would be nice. I do have him in a bit too large of a tub, I guess. Wanna fill in the extra space.

I have a mini chill tree, made of 1.5 in PVC I think inside my tank and Uli spends about half of her out-of-hide time hanging out on it

    It's made of
1 (couple of feet) piece of PVC that I cut into three pieces, one for the main ramp, and 2 for legs (the ramp piece is twice as long as the leg pieces)
    1 T joint
    2 90 degree elbow joints

1 joint that is 30 degrees I think (or maybe it was 60...the angle on it is actually 120 degrees)

it does take up kind of a lot of room in my tank though (a 20L)

Oh, that's great! I'll probably do something similar to that! My husband said he could do it... Thank you so much! :D

I bought the bendable vines on ebay for a few bucks, and some dollar store plants:) I cleaned everything with this bio-sanitizer I have, then rinsed well with cool water (no chance of fumes), then hot.

It isn't made for reptiles or anything, it's suppost to be non-toxic, bio-degradable, waterfriendly kitchen and surface sanitizer, I bought it at Shoppers Drug Mart.

You can also use diluted bleach but I was concerned I might bleach the silk plant leaves. I'd say good ol dish soap, lots of hot water and a good long rinse will clean the plants good.

yeah I use some kind of kitchen sanitizer on my plants as well, although I'm sure the more plasticky ones can stand the bleach

I thought that as well but figured I might as well use the sanitizer for something, since I never want to clean the kitchen:)
