    BP does strange twisting movement...
So I have had Kojack for a few months now, since February, and he has seemed to have a strange habit of constantly twisting his head upside down. He looks silly doing it but I don't know if that's a bad sign to something? He turns his head upside down and will do it sometimes for several minutes.

Is the animal in question a spider, the one in your sig? This is a known issue and part of the spider trait. Nothing to worry about, as long as the animal is acting normal in every other way.

My friend's spider does the exact same thing. she said it's just some genetic kink that a lot of spiders have. no worries! :)

its common in spiders sometimes not so noticable sometimes more drastic. some say theyve seen wobbles, corkscrewing, or as you have noticed head tilt. some people think its a flaw others think its part of the charm of the spider either way its fine as long as the bp is eating doing what it needs to do

My spider does it every once in a while. Its very common for spider BPs to act that way, and usually nothing to worry about. I believe some have it worse than others.

I think it largely depends on the individual and how you define 'bad.' I've heard of this trait referred to as "head spinning" and spiders who have the trait, which I reason is a large percentage for it to have its own term, are known as 'spinners.'

As it has been stated, some people think it is a genetic flaw, others find it endearing; so long as he is able to eat and do all of his other snaky things without it interfering with his ability to live and thrive, than you should not worry about it.

There are some rare cases in which the 'spinning' is so severe that the snake can not keep its balance nor can it feed itself. However, in the vast majority of cases 'spinning' is marked only by a slight and occasional wobble, spin, corkscrew, tilt, etc. of the head and nothing more.

Personally, I find it interesting from an analytical standpoint. As far as I know, only Spider morphs are known to possess this trait. Maybe one day we will know the exact reason.

If you go to the BP husbandry forum and search 'spinning' you will find many more threads about this topic.

I think your snake looks beautiful! I hope you both enjoy many years together.

Ya it's when he sits in the water bowl and rests his head upside down on the side of the bowl that freaks me out....He always looks dead, then I go to pick him up and he's still very much alive. But thanks for everyone's comments!
