PVC Piping

I have added some 2" PVC pipe and semi burried it with coconut husk and aspen pine shavings. So far Marley loves using the pipe as a hide and I can get one end aroung 88-91 and the cooler end around 77-80 and he seems to vary from side to side and really enjoy the new setup. Im going to be adding some more piping and some more joints to set up a tunnel like enviroment that will be easy to clean. Spot clean the sections as needed as well as a compelete wash and disinfection every 4-6 weeks. Any input is great.

Hi,

Just one quick question.

How easily do you think you will be able to get him out of there in an emergency? I ask because I had a sinaloan milk snake once that hid inside a peice of dried cactus and there was nothing I could to about it till he decided to come out on his own. :P

Ever since I have tried to only use hides I can remove them from easily.:taz:

My feeder mice like to play/hide in an empty paper towel roll, and I can never get those suckers out of there!

yea he slides right out of one of the ends fairly easily. I have had other hideds that were much harder to get out and it was basicly only on his terms. It all comes apart so he never really has that much area to grab on to. He seems to love it thought. After a feed he wil spend about3 days or so just moving back and forth between the warmer side and the cooler side of the pipe and then one the 4th day or so he will come out hunting and i will give him a few days to handle him and then feed every 6-8 days and he seem to be loving it. For all of about 10 dollars in pipe and fittings i have a hide he seems to enjoy.

That's a pretty good idea. And with lots of couplings you could always get at your snake.
