    Shedding Question.
My BP just went into his first shed since I purchased him a little over a month ago.

I upped his humidity to around 70-75% to help this, but I have a question since I noticed something today.

He just came out of his blue phase and should be shedding any day now, but I noticed that his eyecaps are dented. I know for a fact that they weren't before the shed and as I said I upped his humidity, so my question is: Is this normal? I have no clue since I have never experienced something like this before.

    Any help is appreciated.

It happens from time to time. Check him after he shed's completely to see what they look like then. If they are still dented then I would suggest you bathing him. Make the water about 85-90 degree's (read it with a temp gun, if you have one). Soak him in a sealed tub for about 15 minutes and then they should just peal right off.

That's what I would do if they didn't come off in the shed. Seems to work just fine for me.

70-75% should be enough for him to shed as well. I wouldn't do anything different next time.

    UPDATE:
Well I didn't expect a shed so soon but that's due to me being used to my cali kings shedding taking a bit longer than a BP I think!

He shed in one complete peice, eyecaps and all. I peeked in on him but only for a second to make sure everything was good.

To be honest he sort of looked a different color, almost like a morph! I'll take pictures tommorow. Don't want to disturb him after just shedding.

Yay for his first shed since I got him. Complete and all :)

I love that post-shed look! Like getting a brand new BP!

I have had the eye-dimples a couple of times, but as long as your husbandry is good there shouldn't be a problem. Mine was in the middle of a bad shed when I got him, and it took a couple of sheds to get back on track, but consistent husbandry has made all the difference and now it's a non-issue.
