Sterilite Nuber & Size of vent holes??

Could someone give me an estimate or starting point on the number, placement, and size of holes to drill in a Sterilite 40Qt/38L tub. It is approximately 32"x16"x7".

i would say 8 holes on the front and back and maybe 4 on the short sides about an inch inch an a half apart but im no expert so see what everyone else says

It kind of depends on your environment. I would start off with just a couple holes setup the tub with your substrate, water and hides, heat it up to the proper temp gradient and see where you are with humidity after a day or so. Then adjust from there, keep in mind it's easier to add more holes than plug existing ones ;) As for making the holes I use a soldiering iron, works perfect nice clean holes and a perfect size!

I also use a soldering iron. There's no danger in those fumes, I hope.

I take that back. I think i already have Dain Bramage from the fumes.
