    Shedding and bleeding
Hi, I went to go check on my snake this morning found the she had shed then I saw blood coming from her cloaca, and I just wanted to know if this is normal and she has left over shed and someone told me to put her in a damp pillow case from 30min to 1hr is this true

Depends on how much blood, and if the bleeding continues. Could be nothing more then an abrasion near the vent from shedding, but I'd keep a close eye on her and have her looked at if the bleeding persists.

and i have heard that as one of the methods to aid a bad shed, after you let her chill in the bag let her run threw a moist towel in your hand to remove the rest. there are several others too if you choose

    good luck

If you follow this sticky, it is the perfect example of how to aid a stuck shed. But can you describe the bleeding a little more? Are we talking an open sore or just a tiny bit of blood? If you are going to help her with her shed, be very careful around that area, and do not in anyway try to "pull" the shed off, follow the sticky and allow her to remove it by running thorough the damp towel.

Okie dokie, well you can follow that sticky on assisting her shed, and if you can about where the blood was coming from, put a tiny bit of polysporin on it after her "bath". Just to be clear was the blood coming from a spot between her scales, or actually out of her cloaca?

It's actually very common for there to be a few drops of blood, either on the snake or on the shed, near the cloaca, so long as it's just a little bit, think nothing of it. =)

Thats always good to know. I have never had/seen any bleeding from LD during or after a shed near his vent, so I was not too sure if it was something to worry about. Thanx!
