    Another breeding question...
This is my first year breeding, and I'm just not sure at what point in the "cycle" my girl is in...any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Here is the timeline:

Locks observed on and off since Christmas
Ate less frequently but still often (every 2 to 3 weeks)
Shed on 2/14 and continued to eat and lock
    Stopped eating on 3/16
Shed 4/1 and continued to lock

So do you think the shed on 4/1 was significant? I don't know if I have seen ovulation. She definitely got big in the middle, but maybe it was building?
    Thanks!

Have you palpated her? That's the easiest way to tell what stage she's in...

I just watched the Ralph Davis video on palpating. She's locked up right now, but I'm going to try it later in the week. So what should I be feeling if she's already ovulated? If she hasn't ovulated?

My guess would be that if she shed on April 1, and then had a copulation after this shed, that she has not ovulated yet, as I have never had or heard of a female that will breed after she has ovulated.

I recently had a girl lock up after her POS for a few days...she laid 31 days later

That's interesting. Did you confirm that the male was actually copulating, or just tail wrapped?

No I didn't confirm, but I would assume it was just a tail wrap....It was weird because I missed the Ovulation so I thought she was building the whole time.

if she is indeed close to ovulation you should feel hard lumps around the size of a golfball maybe a little bigger. if she has ovulated you will feel lumps but they will be squishy like a water baloon.

Thanks for the input! I don't feel as much in the dark. I'll be sure to ask if I have any more questions. :D
