Re: BHB and Monitor Lizards
In the snakebytes video he specifically says that they are feeding cages.
Re: BHB and Monitor Lizards
I know that but people on a different forum are bashing him for it and I want to prove them wrong.

Out of curiosity - which forum?
........you don't need to prove them wrong. If they watch the video, they will clearly hear his explanation that this is a feeding bin.

Although I am wondering what reaction you were aiming for by posting the vid. Do you have an issue with it or did you just think it was cool and wanted to share it?
A good friend of mine uses a feeding cage for his blackthroat monitor and that cage also has substrate and a water dish in it along with a radiant heat panel - why? Well he has it set up as a backup enclosure in case one if the bins in his boa rack has a flexwatt issue. I supposed an idiot could go off half-cocked and whine and cuss about his husbandry habits..........oh well.
However, judging by the statements, ie: keeping snakes in racks being inhumane and, on another part of the forum, recommending rock pythons, burmese pythons and "matlock" pythons as good first pet choices, I'd probably advise against getting in the habit of trying to prove people wrong - it could easily become a full time job.
Re: BHB and Monitor Lizards
i not only doubt but i know he doesnt keep that monitor in that tiny enclosure! come on people were talking about brian here. give me a break  people need to get a life, honestly.
Re: BHB and Monitor Lizards
Nick, I would imagine if you have specific questions about monitor housing by a company, then the best way to find out the answers would be to directly email them or leave a message through their website.
As far as what goes on at another forum, that has no bearing here.
Re: BHB and Monitor Lizards
I didn't even wonder. From the looks of his facility, the commitment it must take to run it and the health if his reptiles I took it for granted that the largest specimens were in those bins strictly for feeding. Since he may be leaving them there for a couple days for digestion etc hence the substrate and water bowl.
Re: BHB and Monitor Lizards
When ever your are on top people will always be jealous and try to knock you down.
I am sure this is nothing new to Brian.
Once you have accomplished what he has done then maybe you could critic what he does.
Dont bring dirty laundry from another forum here, we dont want it.;)
