    Poss het sibs
How many of you have kept sibling females that where poss het and had both of them prove (either for or against) the trait? So two girls poss het for albino and both not have any albinos in their clutch:

Last year I had a clutch of 7 eggs from het albino to het albino and not one albino. I am keeping all the female babies to breed to another het albino male when they are big enough. I was going to keep them all and breed back to dad but. Picked up another het albino male. They are so cheap right now so figured why not. Then I dont have to breed them back to dad. Not really an answer to your question. But my point is you might just have missed it with them. I would keep them and get a few more clutches out of them before you write them off as just normals.

Either one of two things happened in your clutch.

    1. The person who sold them to you lied about their lineage.

    2. You were just VERY unlucky with your clutch.

Where these 50% or 66% chance hets?

With two 50% chance hets there is a 25% chance that both aren't het (just like the 25% chance that both are). So while there was a 75% chance that one or both was a het you wouldn't have to be all that unlucky to strike out.

If you had that many pos-het females you should throw down for an albino male. One the one hand you'll be more certain whether or not they are het (het x het you still have to keep guessing) and you will be able to sell the het babies as 100% het rather than pos-het. It would be a worthwhile investment.

Well the male came from RDR and the Female came from EBN so Im pretty sure I didnt get lied to. Just bad luck but not that big of a deal Im going to pair them back up next year. Or the end of this year

Is the male a 100% het or 66%/50% het. If he isn't a 100% het this could actually be the strike out and the females could very well actually be Hets.

The male is 100% het albino from RDR and the female is 100% het albino from EBN. So that makes the babies 66% pos het albino. I kept all the female babies. I picked up another 100% het albino male and the pos het female babies will be going to him. So I dont have to breed them back to dad.

I love Poss Hets, and will be breeding out a large group next year (and later this year) to see if I hit the odds.

Just keep in mind that these odds everyone talks about are based on 16 eggs, so It could take two or three seasons to show that a het is a het because ball pythons have small clutches...

It's basically like playing roulette, you never know were the ball is going to land but sometimes lady luck is on your side.
