question about lucys and eggs

Okay, I know that mojave x mojave makes a lucy. and I know that lesser X lesser makes a lucy, and that butter x butter makes a lucy.

But would you get a lucy from a mojave x lesser? And if so, would you be able to breed that lucy to a butter and get all 3 morphs in that clutch?

Sorry if that was hard to understand, I wasn't sure how to word everything

Yes.. you would
mojave x lesser = blue eyed lucy
If you bred a lesser x mojave lucy to a butter, you should get, lessers, mojaves, butters, probably more blue eyed white snakes, and normals

what would you call the white snakes tho. cuz there is no "het" for any of them so you couldnt say lesser x mojave lucy "het" butter or any combo like that. or would the lucy from that clutch bred to a normal still produce all 3? hope i didnt lose yall as much as i just lost myself

I wonder if you would be able to tell what one was the lucy from all three. If it looked the same as all the others. I guess you wouldnt know until you bred it. Would be a cool animal for breeding.

This isn't quite right. All three morphs exist on the same locus in the dna strand. The lesser/mojave will always pass either the lesser gene or the mojave gene, never normal, and never both. The butter will pass either butter or normal. So, every baby that gets the butter gene will be a lucy, either butter/mojave or butter/lesser. Every baby that gets the normal gene from the butter will be either a mojave or a lesser. So the results of the breeding would be

mojaves
lessers
mojave/butters
lesser/butters

Well, my son disagrees with me on this. He says that it is POSSIBLE that the 3 morphs do NOT exist on the same locus, in which case normals, butters, mojaves, lessers, and combinations of 2 or all three would be possible. I believe that they are all on the same locus and that my statement above is correct, but I see his point. Unless someone else has been able to prove it one way or another, I have to back off and say that it is possible.
