    While bf was picking up dog poo in the back yard, he found a Eastern Box that was just digging itself out of hibernation! Too cool, I never see any reptiles around here.

    Last summer I found a very large (8" at least) Wood Tortoise (looks a lot like a redfoot) sitting on the centerline of a local highway. Needless to say I risked life and limb to move it safely away from the road.

    Nothing better than seeing native species doing their thing in the wild!

    I have it inside right now, will post pictures in a little while. Our yard is not a safe place for this guy so we are going to relocate him to a nearby state park.

    I got an Eastern Box Turtle once when I was a little guy. Unfortunately our neighbor who is an awesome guy let me know they're a protected species so I went and released him. Thank god because the fine wasn't in the 5.00 range :) They're awesome lookin' turtles though!

    I think you may mean Wood Turtle (Clemmys insculpta).
