    Red Tail Boa Feeding
    Hello
I just got a 42 inch red tail boa. Hes a great snake but i was wondering if there is a way i can feed him mice instead of rats. It would be better for me if i could because i can breed my own food. They're easy to take care of.
I asked someone else and they said to give him one mouse then after he eats it offer him another. ive seen this done with an extremely larger boa with rats and she ate it.
    can i feed mice

also i have a pet mouse that just died today (i think of dehydration, wasnt drinking) im guessing NO but would it be alright to feed him that. it was a large mouse

thanks everyone and i hope i dont sound dumb. hes my first snake and i want to do whats right

There is no way you would want to feed a boa only mice. The number of mice you would have to feed it at each feeding when full grown would be ridiculous. I would suggest just ordering frozen rats. It's really the cheapest way to go if you only have one boa.

    A agree. Rats are needed.
I recommend frozen also - they can be mail ordered or purchased at shows for less than a buck a rat.
