BP acting funny with new hides
ive had my bp about 8 months now, he just outgrew his hides for the first time. he used to have terracotta plant pots which i chipped out the hole in the bottom so it was big enough to fit into. he no longer fit under them and was always sprawling out from under the bottom

now i put in some plastic tupperware types with a u-shaped notch cut out along the rim. he has barely touched them and seems to just curl up in the corner now. its been about a week or so.

hes been acting kinda stressed since the switch and im kind of worried. i dont know if its just cause they are different of if he is somehow not noticing that the entrances are at the bottom instead of the top like before?

Id try guiding her/him in head first into the hides... this way he/she knows that the doors in front and hopefully they start using it... My redtail did the same thing when I went from mulch type substrate to newspaper... he would chill on top of his hide and wouldnt go on the newspaper... gave it a week or so and he stopped being picky.

Put it right on top of him(gently) and that should help him.
They do like small hides, could it be too big?

You know, the same thing happened to one of my ball pythons. I switched her to NP from cypress and she fit her whole fat body up on top of her hot hide and just flicked her tongue like, "What did you do that for, crazy lady?!"

To the OP: Your snake may be weirded out by the change, or s/he may not feel like they're safe enough to go in (are they dark?) I use the critter cubbies for mine because they're all the same, cheap, and easy to upgrade as your snake grows. After a week or so if it's still acting weird, you may want to try something like that.
