Caught an ovulation this morning
When I checked on my snakes this morning I found this 2250g girl ovulating. She is part of a breeding loan, and was only paired once with my mojave male, but they locked for 2 days. Same story with another girl, and she's glowing bright and getting big too.

Thanks guys. I'm worried though, because a storm knocked out my power last night for a few hours and the snakes dropped down to 75. What are the chances of the eggs or building females going bad because of that?

You should be ok but a battery backup might be a good idea if you are gonna be incubating eggs and the power supply is sketchy.

Thanks Raul. Right now I have a box of 30 hour heat packs incase the incubator loses power, but a battery would be smarter if I'm not into a house next month. I'll definitely be getting a decent generator once I'm out of my condo.

For Ovs, not a big deal...
Incubation... TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITCH.

Last year I had my power to my incubator go out...Had my last clutch of the season cooking...Temps in the incubator dropped down to the low 60's for a good 16 - 18 hours...They were on day 48 - All hatched just fine on day 52...You'll be fine...

I don't think it really matters much at all. I've known breeders that would drop their temps intentionally for a brief period thinking that it may actually trigger an ovulation. I don't know if it does or not, but it doesn't seem to hurt any.
