Water Bowl Question?

My Ball has been sitting in his water bowl for the last 24 hours. What is the reason for why he is doing this?

I did find 1 flea on him last weak, but I have not seen any others since. Maybe he is too hot?

Yes, I'm sure it was a flea. Temps are at 75 throughout the tank. About 85 degrees directly under the lamps where the water dish is located.

Please read up on correct temperatures. your temps are too low. Are you sure it is still alive?

I'm thinking your snake had (has) mites. Provent-a-mite (PAM) is an awesome product to rid your environment of these critters. Follow directions on the can!
Also, your temps are too low for your snake. He'd appreciate it if you'd bump the warm side to about 92 and the cool side at about 85.
Also, have you seen little black specks in the water?
EDIT> I forgot to ask whether you have hides on the hot and cooler side of your tank? Sometimes they'll sit in the water bowl for security....
Maybe you could just share with us the rest of the snake's environment.... We'd all be able to help you a bit better!

BP's will sit in the water if the temps are too warm...and this is clearly not the case here (please seek correct temps). This means mites.

I would recommend a bathing procedure in warm water as outlined in the Barker's book...2-8 hours keeping the water at about 80 degrees (this will require a hot pad). Then rub the snake down with Reptile Relief to kill current mites and use Provent-a-Mite on the enclosure.

Ok, I double checked the temps. We are ok. Directly under the lamps we are at about 96 degrees. In the other areas temp is around 86-89 degrees. The position of my tank mounted thermometer/hygrometer is not giving accurate readings.

As far as the thing that I thought was a flea, you all were right. It was a mite. This thing had jumped right on my hand when I picked up Alex. So I spritzed him with Reptile Relief & then sprayed the tank/substrate w/ PAM. He was not sitting in his water this evening when I went down to check on him.

As far as hides go, I put a small (9 in long x 4 in high x 6 in deep) box with a hole cut in one end of it. I also have a good sized live plant in there that he hides behind or in.
