    My RTB..BCC OR BCI???
Just curious...how can you tell which one she is? When I got her..I think he said she was Columbian RTB. She's at 7 foot right now.

BCI. She's not the right color and doesn't have the bat wings on her saddles that the BCCs usually have.

well mine is 4,5ft and looks less than half the size of this one, so looks are deceiving.

Thanks for the help...sorry, you're right..I measured her today and she's 6 foot, 9 inches. She's almost 6 years old. I was told that she was 7 foot, just a lil short.
She eats 1 jumbo rat every 10 days, but was thinking I need to only feed her 1 rat every 2 weeks. Does that sound about right? I've only owned ball pythons and my ball only eats mice not rats..so this rat thing is new to me.

One large rat every couple of weeks is fine. Are you sure she's a female? She seems a little small for a 6 year old female on that diet. Nice looking snake, though. :)

    Re: My RTB..BCC OR BCI???
I started feeding her every 10 days since I got her..he had been feeding her every 2 weeks.
He said that he was trying to keep her a smaller size to keep her in the tank that he had for her...89 gallon. I'm thinking the tank size doesn't matter, that they continue to grow no matter what size the tank is? right? I plan on buying her a bigger tank.
I just met a guy that owns a serpentarium museum here in Mo and he said to get her weight up by bumping her feedings to every 10 days.
So that's what I have been doing, I wasn't sure if that was the smart thing to do, but since Dennis has been around snakes for years ..I took his advise.
I was told she was a 6 year female and he said she was probed a few times to make sure. But, I haven't found out for sure. I will probably take her over to Dennis when it gets warmer here. I would have no clue how to check if she's a female or not. lol

    Re: My RTB..BCC OR BCI???
    I agree, she's a pretty BCI. =)

Have you weighed her? Could you perchance take a full body shot, like her slithering on the carpet and you take a shot shooting straight down? Her head looks pretty big, so she probably is the age you were told.

Adult snakes are generally sexed by probing, which needs to be done by someone who knows how, otherwise you could seriously damage the animals organs.

And yes, snakes will grow to the size the combination of their species, gender and genes dictate. They are not like some species of fish which only grow to the size of their bowl. =)
