    kiln dried white wood
looking for cheap alternative to keep my ASF's happy with their chewing needs. I tried giving them some oak, but it was TOO hard.... they tried to chew it, but after a couple days decided it was too hard and left it alone (it was so hard that they didn't even leave bite marks)

So, at home depot i found some Kiln dried whitewood (this is what the kind of wood is called... it is not white!) ... so i got a 2X4 that i will cut to size.... don't know anything about wood. is this stuff safe for them to chew on? It won't kill em will it? It is obviously softer then the oak was.

We give our rats just regular 2 x 4's cut up into blocks about 4 inches long. I don't know if the home depot carries different woods in the main isle, but it isn't treated if that's what you mean. No dead or dying rats so far. *knock on wood*
