    Adult Males going crazy?
I have a male pastel that has been going crazy over the past month or so. When hes in his tub, hes crazy. Never stops trying to get out, cuts the front of his face by throwing himself around. But when he's with a female...He's calm as ever, never budges. But the thing is I don't have any more females for him.........

I just spotted blood in his cage for the second time in a month....

Anyone else have/had males like this? Solutions? :rage:

I would guess that you could put him in a smaller enclosure and cover all sides (if tank) so that he feels more secure.

is that a security issue? if it is, then crumpled up newspaper will help.

i know NOTHING about breeding... (snakes that is) and so i'm no help if it's not stress related.

I'm pretty sure he just wants to get with more ladies....I would think he would get tired of moving around for a month straight.

I had a similar problem a few months ago. He had been in that enclosure for 6 months or so with no problems, temps all fine but he spent a few weeks being seriously stressed and trying to get out, I had to pad the gap between the cage and the sliding doors because he was working his head into it so frantically he managed to scrape his chin (healed up nicely now). It stopped just as mysteriously as it started but was very worrying for a while. He is his usual sleepy self again for the last few months.
